Cameroon: Minister reveals objectives to Marc Brys

 

It's now signed and official! Marc Brys takes over the reins of the Cameroon national team. He is the new coach of the Indomitable Lions for a period of 2 and a half years, and will be responsible for guiding André Onana's team-mates through the upcoming qualifiers. Sports Minister Mouelle Kombi revealed the objectives assigned to the Belgian technician. "Your mission is to qualify the Indomitable Lions for the next World Cup and to take part honourably in the next African Cup of Nations", said the Minister.

Cameroon: First words from new coach Marc Brys

 

Appointed coach of the Cameroon national team a few days ago, Marc Brys arrived in Yaoundé on Sunday April 7 and will be signing his contract in the next few hours. The Belgian coach gave his first impressions to journalists at the airport."I'm very excited!I'd like to get started already and we're ready to put things in place. I was very happy with the selection process. It was very professional," he confided.

The Cameroon Football Federation and the Ministry of Sports have been in open conflict over the position of coach.

DR Congo-TP Mazembe: Moïse Katumbi announces his departure

 

It's the end of a long reign at the helm of TP Mazembe. The Crows ' all-powerful president, Moïse Katumbi , has announced his departure as head of the club.He made the announcement on BBC radio on Saturday April 6."I do have experience. I've been involved in soccer for more or less 40 years, including 27 years at the helm of TP Mazembe. I'll soon be retiring from soccer. I'm already over 25 and I think I'm the oldest president on the continent.It's time to make way for youths," he declared.

During his tenure, TP Mazembe won three Champions League titles (2009, 2010, 2015) and reached the final of the FIFA Club World Cup in 2010. In addition to several Linafoot (D1) championship titles.

Eredivisie: Yankuba Minteh and Feyenoord pulverize Ajax

Liverpool: Salah saves Reds' day against Manchester United

Cameroon: FECAFOOT to appoint Indomitable Lions staff in 72 hours

 

The Emergency Committee of the Cameroon Football Federation held an ordinary session on Saturday April 6. At the end of the session, the committee asked Samuel Eto'o fils, president of FECAFOOT, to make proposals for the next management team of the senior national team.

"Unanimously of the members present, the Emergency Committee recommends to the President of FECAFOOT to submit, in application of Articles 4 of Decree No. 2014/384 of September 26, 2014 and 40 paragraph 11 of the Statutes of FECAFOOT, proposals for the appointment of members of the management structures of the National Football Selections within a period of seventy-two (72) hours," the body said in a statement published on X.

The Comité d'Urgence considers that the Federation was not involved in the process of appointing the Indomitable Lions' coaching staff, and therefore rejects the decision of the Ministry of Sport. The state body has already expressed its views on the subject and has no intention of going back on its decision. Cameroonian soccer is currently experiencing a major crisis.
