2022: World Cup qualifiers

The Black Stars of Ghana defeated Zimbabwe 3-1 in their 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Saturday evening to close the gap between them and South Africa with just a single point.

New coach, Milovan Rajevac introduced Steadfast FC youngster, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and English fourth-tier goalkeeper, Joe Wollacot in the line up.

Kudus Mohammed with his teasing left foot combined effectively with Crystal Palace attacker Jordan Ayew to get Ghana the opening goal  with only 5 minutes into the game.

Zimbabwe equalized in the 49th minute through Knowledge Musonda through a spot kick.

Arsenal star , Thomas Partey scored Ghana’s second goal in the 66th minute before captain , Andre Dede Ayew another goal in the 87th minute to seal it for the Stars.

Ghana will now travel to Harare on Sunday evening for the return fixture scheduled for Tuesday.
