South African Kevin Anderson will play in the second round of the Us Open. The 35 year old beat the Czech Jiri Vesely (90th) on Monday 30th August. It was not so easy for the world number 75. After winning the first set, Anderson lost the next two sets.
The former world number 5 won the last two sets. The two players were evenly matched in these sets (6-6, 6-6) before the tiebreak. In the end, the South African won in 5 sets (7-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6, 7-6). His compatriot Lloyd Harris enters the fray this Tuesday 31 August at 15:00 GMT.
