World 2022 Q - Victor Osimhen: "We will do our best".

In form with Napoli, Victor Osimhen did not score on his return to the national team last Friday against Ghana. However, the Nigerian striker assures that he is in good shape and believes that Nigeria has the means to qualify.

Victor Osimhen failed to find the net on Friday in Kumasi where Nigeria visited Ghana for the first leg of the 2022 World Cup playoffs (0-0). However, the fans were hoping that their striker, who missed the last AFCON in Cameroon, would be able to score. Especially since the Super Eagles striker, in form with Napoli, had scored in each of the last three games for his country. The Black Stars have, however, managed to contain the Nigerian attack composed of great African soccer.

But, for the return match scheduled for Tuesday, Victor Osimhen hopes that he and his teammates will be effective to qualify Nigeria for its 7th World Cup finals. "For me, I will do my best, but it's not just about me. We have inspirational players in the team like Ahmed Musa, Odion Ighalo, Kenneth Omeruo and other great players. With their experience, we can achieve this dream. Because we know how important soccer is to us, our families, our careers and the whole nation. We will do our best and try to win," said the 24-year-old.

Victor Osimhen is the leader of the Nigerian attack and has scored 8 goals in his 10 games with the national team.
