Riyad Mahrez kicks off hostilities against Cameroon. Algeria challenges the Indomitable Lions this Friday, March 25 at the Japoma stadium in Douala for the first leg of the playoffs for the 2022 World Cup.
Algeria still has bitter memories of the scenes at Japoma when Cameroonian supporters rallied behind Ivory Coast to see off Algeria in a Group C game. But captain Riyad Mahrez does not want to dwell on this issue. "We don't care about Japoma! We want to go to the World Cup," said the Manchester City striker on his arrival in Equatorial Guinea, where the team is in training. The Algerian team arrived in Malabo, the Equatorial Guinean capital, early Monday evening on a special flight. They will be in Cameroon on Thursday ahead of the away clash with Cameroon this Friday,
