CAF Confed Cup: Raja picks quarter-finals ticket

Raja Casablanca is the first team to qualify for the quarterfinals. The Moroccan team defeated Pyramids FC on Sunday (3-0).

Raja are on a roller coaster at the moment with a 4th win in a bounce. Fabrice Ngoma (15th), Ben Malango (42nd) and Sofiane Rahimi (77th) scored the goals of the match. The Rajaouis (12 pts) have clearly made their intentions for the season loud and clear. Finalists of the last edition, the Egyptians (6 pts) are followed by Nkana FC (6 pts -3). The Zambian club got the better of Namungo (1-0).

Coton Sport consolidated its leadership in group B by crushing NAPSA (5-1). The Cameroonians (9 pts) make a step towards the quarterfinals. RS Berkane, the defending champions, were held to a 0-0 draw by JS Kabylie. The Algerians (6 pts) are 2nd, followed by the Moroccans (5 pts) who occupy the 3rd place.

On Monday, Jaraaf can take the first place in group C if they win against Salitas FC of Burkina Faso. On Sunday, CS Sfaxien and Etoile Sahel drew (2-2). They are respectively 1st and 2nd in the group.

Orlando Pirates is getting closer to the quarterfinals. The South Africans (1st, 8 pts) dominated Al Ahli Benghazi (3-0). ES Setif are back on track after beating Enyimba 3-0. But the Nigerians (6 pts) remain 2nd in this group. Al Ahli Benghazi (4 pts -3) and ES Setif (4 pts +1) remain in the race for the quarterfinals.
