CAF: New round for stadium homologation planned for July

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is to carry out a new round of evaluation for the homologation of stadiums in Africa. These inspection visits will take place on 14 July at the latest.

Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, among others, will soon be fixed. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) will carry out a new evaluation round for the homologation of stadiums by 14 July 2021. This CAF round concerns mainly its member associations taking part in the qualifying matches for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

In this new round, CAF will first focus on those stadiums that were banned and/or provisionally approved during the previous round of pre-inspections in April. To this end, member associations are requested to send an updated information report on their stadiums to CAF's Club Licensing Department.

A report will then be published by the African football governing body. This report must however be completed by the Club Licensing Officer of the football federations with the documentation requested from the members of the association. CAF will then decide whether or not to approve the stadiums concerned. Again, the places indicated for the next qualification matches for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, namely the 1st and 2nd days planned to be played during the international window from August 30 to September 7. This decision is expected no later than 21 July 2021.
