The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will meet all presidents of the 54 Member Associations and the 6 Zonal Presidents on July 17th, 2021.
Dr. Patrice Motsepe in a communication to presidents of MAs and Zonal Presidents dated July 2 stated that he will meet them at the Four Seasons Hotel in Casablanca, Morocco.
“Thus, we will discuss the ongoing changes at CAF as well as the strategies to make it sustainable in the medium and long term,” stated Dr. Motsepe in his invitation.
He pointed out that when he came to office in March this year, he stated that CAF was experiencing major financial challenges and thus it was important to meet and plan strategies to make CAF globally competitive and self-sustaining.
The CAF Executive Committee is scheduled to hold a meeting in Casablanca, Morocco on July 16th whose accommodation expenses will fully be catered for by the Morocco FA President and FIFA Council Member Fouzi Lekjaa. But Dr. Motsepe made it clear that he found it useful and beneficial to host the Member Association and Zonal presidents in Casablanca as well since Lekjaa has also offered to meet their accommodation expenses.
“We are also inviting you to attend the CAF Champions League final between Al Ahly and Kaizer Chiefs which will take place on the same day,” added Dr. Motsepe.
It will also be the first time that Dr. Motsepe meets some of the newly elected presidents of some member associations like Algeria, Sierra Leone, Eswatini, Rwanda and Zanzibar.
