CAF Confederation Cup participants Marumo Gallants have dismissed their coach Sebastien Migne after the coach pleaded guilty for an incident involving him and the club’s technical director, Harris Choeu.
Gallants confirmed MIgne’s dismissal in a statement, revealing that the coach pleaded guilty for insubordination and using abusive language to the technical director. The incident occurred at OR Tambo International Airport, in front of the players and technical team, after Gallants’ 3-1 defeat to Golden Arrows in the league before the international break.
"As a coach his duty is to instil discipline to the team. The club followed correct disciplinary procedure and the decision to release was made. It is unfortunate that Sebastien had to be dismissed especially at a crucial time when we are pushing to remain in the league and advance in CAF," club chairman Abram Sello said in a statement.
Gallants, who are currently second from bottom in the league in South Africa, qualified for the Confederation Cup second round by beating Futuro Kings FC from Equatorial Guinea over two legs in the first stage of the competition.
They will have a tough one in the second round against DRC outfit AS Vita Club.
