Nigeria international Toni Payne was the only female player who was chosen to wear the new Sevilla kits for next Spanish Primera Iberdrola season.
Payne joined Las Rojiblancas in the summer of 2018 from Dutch side Ajax and has now a new three-year contract that will keep her at the Primera Iberdrola side until June 2024 following the expiration of her initial deal.
In a reward for her loyalty, the Spanish outfit made the 26-year-old forward the feminine face of Seville based club at the unveiling of new kits on Thursday.
On the new kits, Sevilla has chosen another classic for this season, black, for the third kit. However, the first and second clothing come with the novelty that both will have fine vertical stripes besides the traditional white and red colors.
According to the club, this year the launch of the first and second adult jerseys will come with a slim fit like that of professional players, a characteristic that makes them ideal for playing football. It will be from September 2021 when the shirts with the standard fit will arrive.
Sevilla posted a video of their players both from the male and female teams wearing the coming season's attract on their Twitter handle.
The club posted on instagram, “#FeelThePower of the new 2021-22 kits .”
Apart from the Nigerian, the other players who were also in the video are Ivan Rakitic and PepeElBotellu.
In her first three years for Cristian Toro's side, Payne scored 16 goals in 81 league games and was Sevilla's hero having scored the winner as her team recorded a 2-1 comeback triumph over Espanyol to end 2020-21 campaign.
Sevilla ended the just-concluded season in eighth position after increasing 45 points from 34 games.
And as the Andalusian side eyes a better outing next season, they deemed it fit to keep the former United States of America youth international in their squad.
