Wydad did not miss the opportunity to recover their title lost last season. The Red and Whites won their Botola Pro D1 matchday 27 away to Moloudia d'Oujda (2-0) on Wednesday 14 July. The goals were scored by the best scorer of the championship, Ayoub El Kaabi (64') and Yahya Attiat Allah (90+1').
The Red and Whites thus win the title with three games to spare. With 63 points, they are indeed ahead of their rivals Raja by 11 points. The Greens won earlier at home against Moghreb of Tetouan (4-1).
With this new title, WAC now have 21 titles, 16 of which have been won since the creation of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (RMFF) in 1956. Raja and FAR are still on 12. KAC of Kenitra and Moghreb of Fez follow with 4 titles each.
At the final whistle, the fans exploded some firecrackers in the Bourgogne district, which is mainly pro-Wydad, while some motorists celebrated this victory with horns on the Zerktoni and Massira Al Khadra Boulevards in Casablanca.
The team will represent Morocco in next season's CAF Champions League.
