Zambia: Lungu happy to be back after a year

Ghampani Lungu is back in the Zambian national team
Zambian striker Ghampani Lungu as expressed his delight at being back in the senior national team.
Lungu, who plays for SuperSport United in South Africa, has been out of the national team for a little over a year, but his impressive performances at club level have caught the eye of recently appointed Chipolopolo coach Aljosa Asanovic, who has named a 23-man squad for the international friendly against Congo Brazzaville.
The 23-year-old Lungu has been a key player for SuperSport and will be hoping to make an impact on his return to the national team, so that he can be considered again for selection in future matches.
It feels really good to be back especially being out of the national team for the past games,it really feels good to be called upon, atleast my work,my hard work is showing that I’m working hard at the club level so it’s really good to come back here,” he is quoted as saying on Zambianfootball.co.zm.
“It’s important for us to start these friendlies and as a team we’re trying to build something, trying to jell because you know it’s like a continuity from the ones that we had, there are certain people who are not gonna be available but we keep on building and we are a strong nation, and we just need support from everyone, the fans our families yeah.
“Just keep on sticking with us, just keep on praying for us,keep on supporting us because this game is for the fans, we do it for the fans as well and we can’t do anything without them,so yeah,” he concluded.
