Match day 6 of the Ghana Women’s Premier League continued last weekend with interesting results across league centres in the Northern and Southern zones. Immigration Ladies recorded their first victory whilst Berry Ladies and Hasaacas Ladies remain unbeaten in the league.

 

Southern Zone

Sea Lions 0-1 Immigration Ladies

Faustina Kyeremeh aided Immigration Ladies to pick up their first win of the season when they travelled to beat Sea Lions at the Nduom stadium. The Black Queens striker scored the only goal in the 16th minute.

 

Berry Ladies 2-2 Ladystrikers

Coach Mercy Tagoe‘s Berry Ladies managed to draw 2-2 against Ladystrikers at the Madina astroturf. Cynthia Boakye Yiadom scored the first goal for the home side in the 23rd minute before Black Queens’ Gladys Amfobea equalized in the 37th minute. In the 43rd minute, Suzzy Dede Teye made it 2-1 for the visitors before half time. Five minutes into the second half, Felicity Asante levelled the scoreline. Berry Ladies had an opportunity to win the game when they got a penalty in the 76th minute but Felicity Asante missed.

 

Police Ladies FC 1-2 Hasaacas Ladies FC

A brace from Milot Pokuaa in the third and 33rd minutes was enough to secure the three maximum points for Hasaacas Ladies at the McDan La Park. Coach Franklin Oswald Sam side got a consolation in the 15th minute through their captain, Josephine Boateng.

 

Soccer Intellectuals FC 2-0 Thunder Queens FC

Soccer Intellectuals beat Thunder Queens comfortably at the Adu Yaw-Assassan Park. Deborah Anderson got the first goal in the 16th minute before her teammate, Jennifer Mensah Adjei extended the scoreline in the 88th minute.

 

Northern Zone

At the Aliu Mahama stadium, Northern Ladies managed to beat Supreme Ladies 1-0 at the Aliu Mahama stadium. Victoria Salifu scored the only goal of the encounter in the 13th minute.

 

Ashtown Ladies 1-2 Ampem Darkoa Ladies

A goal from Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah and Sonia Opoku in the 73rd and 78th respectively were enough to give Ampem Darkoa Ladies another away victory. Ashtown Ladies got a consolation goal in the 67th minute through Rita Boamah.

 

Prisons Ladies 1-0 PearlPia Ladies

Prisons Ladies beat zone rivals PearlPia Ladies 1-0 at the Sunyani Coronation Park. Abigail Tutuwaah scored the only goal in the 47th minute.

 

Kumasi Sports Academy 2-1 Fabulous Ladies

Fabulous Ladies struggle in the league continues this weekend when they travelled to Ejisu to face Kumasi Sports Academy at the Okese Park. Favour Fosua Anane got the opener for the home team in the 21st minute. Fabulous Ladies equalized within a minute through Erica Forkuo. Joyce Larbi scored the winning goal for Kumasi Sports Academy with four minutes left to end the first half. Fabulous Ladies goalkeeper, Ohene Nana Ofori-Amanfo saved two penalties to reduce the scoreline.
