Brazilian Neymar, who joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 on a five-year contract, will now be linked with the French capital club until 2026. He will extend his contract by four years this Saturday, May 8.
He said he "felt happy in Paris" just after PSG's Champions League semi-final win over Bayern Munich (3-2; 0-1). Neymar will now extend his contract with the Parisian club until 2026.
The Brazilian will extend his lease by four years. The former Barcelona player thus puts an end to the insistent rumors that sent him back to the Spanish club where he had a good relationship with Lionel Messi.
Neymar has scored 85 goals and provided 51 assists in 112 appearances for PSG since he joined the club. And last year, he made a major contribution to PSG's run to the Champions League final. But the star man has been criticized over the years for not stealing the show especially in key games for PSG at the Champions League, a competition victory for which the player was brought to the French Capital. Neymay since joining PSG has failed to win any trophy outside the domestic ones in France.
After Neymar's extension, PSG are now hoping to convince their striker Kylian Mbappé, who is under contract until 2022, to continue his adventure in the French capital. The player has long been linked with a move away from the French Capital with rumors linking him to a move to Zidane's Real Madrid.
The Parisian leaders will perhaps then tackle the Lionel Messi dossier. The six-time Barça Ballon d'Or winner is free from June. And Neymar has repeatedly stated his desire to play again with the Argentine.
