Striker against Lens yesterday Saturday, Youcef Attal gave Nice a smile back. But not for long as the excellent Algerian right-back then suffered his 11th injury since arriving on the Côte d'Azur in July 2018.
After 3 defeats and 2 draws in its last 5 games, Nice has regained its smile thanks to Youcef Attal. The Algerian right-back scored the only goal of the victory against Lens (1-0). But Attal came out just after that goal in the 49th minute. For in celebrating his first goal of the season, the 2019 African champion contracted an injury. Attal jumped up and raised his fist in celebration. However, at the landing, the 24-year-old held the back of his thigh.
The coach of the Nice team took it out. Thus if Nice can blow with these 3 points on the counter, the staff holds its breath concerting Attal. "Youcef felt a contracture in his thigh. We don't have a diagnosis yet. We hope it's not too serious," said coach Adrian Ursea at a press conference.
15 games already missed this season
This season, the player trained at FC Paradou d'Algérie has already been to the infirmary four times. The three times it was because of a muscle injury and the 4th time it was because of a muscle injury, Attal was infected with the coronavirus.
In total, the Algerian right-back missed 15 matches with Nice in 2020-2021 all competitions combined. Even with the Fennecs, the Boghni native is not spared. Unquestionable titular in Egpyte during the Can 2019, he however missed the semi-final and the final because of an injury. Attal was, indeed, injured in the quarterfinals against Côte d'Ivoire.
