The President of the Nigeria Football Federation Amaju Melvin Pinnick has been named as one of the Vice Presidents on the new organizing Committee of the Total Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Pinnick, also a member of the FIFA Council representing Africa was very instrumental in campaigning for Dr. Patrice Motsepe to become President of CAF ahead of the elections on March 12th, 2021.
Dr. Motsepe will lead the Committee, while Pinnick and Augustin Emmanuel Senghor, President of the Senegalese Football Federation and 1st Vice President for CAF will be the two Vice Presidents.
CAF announced the various Committees on Tuesday two days after an Executive Meeting that took place in Kigali, Rwanda last Saturday. The meeting was also attended by FIFA President Gianni Infantino as a guest.
The standing Committees were proposed by the CAF President Dr. Motsepe to the CAF Emergency Committee, and the Executive Committee ratified them.
President of the Moroccan Football Federation and FIFA Council Member, Fouzi Lekjaa remained as the head of the Finance Committee, while the President of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), Andrew Kamanga will be the vice.
The Acting President of the Cameroonian Football body (FECAFOOT), Seidou Mbombo Njoya will head the Organising Committee of the Total African Nations Championship (CHAN), while President of the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), Moses Hassim Magogo is the vice President.
CAF’s second Vice President and head of the Mauritania Football Federation, Ahmed Yahya will head the Organising Committee of the Interclub Competitions and Club Licensing, while Maclean Letshwiti, the Botswana Football association President and Djibrilla Hamidou Hima, the Niger Football Federation President will be the vice-presidents.
Under the Organising Committee of the Interclub Competitions and Club Licensing includes the CAF Total Champions League, the CAF Total Confederation Cup, the Total Super Cup as well as the new Women’s Champions League.
The third CAF Vice President and President of the Djibouti Football Federation, Suleiman Waberi will head the Organising Committee for Youth Competitions. He will be supported by vice-presidents Pierre Alain Mouguengui (Gabon) and Moustapha Ishola Raji (Liberia).

Sita Sangare (former President of Football Federation of Burkina Faso), Abdiqani Said Arab (Somalia) for Development Committee for Futsal and Beach Soccer
Augustin Emmanuel Senghor (Senegal), Elvis Chetty from (Seychelles) for Committee for Legal Affairs and National Associations
Wadie Jary, President of the Tunisian Football Federation as president of the CAF Medical Committee, while the Vice will be appointed at a later time.
