Elected in January 2024 after interminable electoral procedures, the businessman led a short and solitary reign within the FGF.
Accused of going it alone, his management was tainted by numerous scandals, including the massive misappropriation of equipment intended for national teams for his club (AS Kaloum). He had also remained very silent following the revelations from Sport News Africa concerning sexual abuse (of minors) at the Nongo technical center, even trying to interfere with and obstruct the work of the Disciplinary Commission.
Dismissed by his own Executive Committee in May 2025, he left the federation to return to his various activities while maintaining his influence at AS Kaloum.
Travel ban
For several weeks now, Bouba Sampil has been the target of a legal case outside football since his adopted daughter filed a complaint against him for repeated sexual touching and rape.
Handled by the Special Unit for the Protection of Vulnerable Persons (SCPPV), a national gendarmerie unit, the case was dealt with in utmost secrecy, with all parties being interviewed and a thorough medical examination being conducted.
Given the seriousness of the case, a travel ban was issued against Sampil by the prosecutor of Dixinn – where the SCPPV reception center is located.
According to several sources consulted by Sport News Africa, there was, however, pressure to prevent the case from being immediately transferred to the Court of First Instance, in order to allow Sampil to seek an amicable solution by offering money to the family.
Without success for the moment, the young girl has maintained her complaint despite the intimidation.
