UEFA CL: PSG beat Bayern to the finals

Tops
Willian Pacho

Named man of the match by UEFA, the Ecuadorian defender delivered another very high-level performance. After his mistake during the first leg on the opening of the Bavarian score, he reacted perfectly with an authoritative and mature version. Very attentive from the first minutes, he beat Harry Kane in the 10th minute, preventing the English striker from arming his shot.

Solid in duels, precise in his interventions and always well placed, Pacho multiplied the important defensive actions. His speed also allowed him to catch Michael Olise as soon as he came back from the locker room (46'), before stopping another German attack in the 70th minute. In a Parisian defense often under pressure, he embodied serenity and assurance.

Warren Zaire-Emery
Lined up as right-back in the absence of Achraf Hakimi, the young Parisian had a delicate mission against Luis Díaz. Despite some difficulties at the beginning of the match, especially on an acceleration by the Colombian in the 21st minute, Zaire-Emery gradually took over. Combative and disciplined, he won several important duels, like this rough but precious intervention in the 30th minute.

Still active defensively, he picked up another dangerous ball in the 36th. But it was mainly his second period that left an impression. More serene technically, he even offered a magnificent little bridge to Konrad Laimer (62nd), before disgusting Luis Díaz in the one-on-one. A performance full of personality for a player who confirms his rise to power in the major European events.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia
The Georgian continues to make this Champions League his favorite field of expression. Still very inspired offensively, he quickly punished Bayern by delivering a perfect cross to Ousmane Dembélé on the opening goal from the 3rd minute (0-1). Very available between the lines, striking in his ball holds and constantly dangerous, Kvaratskhelia was the main offensive detonator in Paris.

His strike in the 21st minute forced Neuer to a clean intervention, while he came close to the goal after a solo raid in the 57th minute. Even warned before the break to save time, he never stopped hurting the German defense. Another match of a European boss for the one who stands out as one of PSG’s offensive leaders.

Flops
Luis Díaz

Very dangerous during the first leg, the Colombian winger was this time totally neutralized by the Parisian defense, and especially by Warren Zaïre-Emery. Unable to create differences in his dribbles or depth, he constantly lost his duels. His shot well above in the 22nd minute perfectly sums up his evening. Too imprecise, too predictable and rarely inspired, Luis Díaz has never weighed on this return semi-final.

Jamal Musiala
The German attacking midfielder tried to bring danger, especially before the break with some interesting strikes. Safonov notably had to work on his attempt in the 44th minute. But in a match of this magnitude, Bayern expected much more from its playmaker. Too discreet in the organization, rarely able to accelerate the rhythm or break lines, Musiala completely disappeared after the break. He never really took control of the Bavarian game.

Jonathan Tah
The German defender has sometimes shown serenity in his raises, but above all he gave the impression of being too passive against the offensive mobility from Paris. Often taken behind his back, rarely dominant in duels, he has never given off a real defensive authority. His head not framed in the additional time of the first period (45+3) finally symbolizes his match: close in some situations, but never really decisive.
