Former Tanzania head coach Etienne Ndayiragije has signed a two year contract with Rwanda Premier League side SC Kiyovu.
Ndayiragije who terminated his contract with Taifa Stars of Tanzania in February after a poor show at the Total Africa Nations Championhip signed a 2-year contract with the Rwanda side two days ago.
“I am happy to be back to coaching a Premier League team which will keep me busy all the time. I look forward to working hard with SC Kiyovu to achieve a lot of success,” Ndayiragije told Sport News Africa.
Juvenal Mvukiyehe, the Club President said that they have signed Ndayiragije because they think he has the experience to steer the team to success. “We have tasked the new coach to win the Premier League title among some of the things this season,” added the Club President.
Mvukiyehe said with the impressive coaching experience of their new coach, he hopes he will help the club to achieve a lot. “He will continue to work with the available coaching staff until the end of the season,” said Mvukiyehe.
Ndayiragije has replaced former Rwandan international Olivier Karekezi who was sacked last weekend because of poor results.
The Burundian coach previously also handled Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC whom he led to the finals of the 2019 CECAFA Kagame Cup where they lost to Uganda’s KCCA FC.
