Ghana Premier League Match day 26 Wrap: Asante Kotoko sinks, Chelsea wins Bono derby,  Hearts wins big in Accra as King Faisal holds Dreams in Dawu

The Ghana Premier League Match day 26 has ended with just a game at hand with Bechem United taking on Karela United on Monday.

Things are beginning to get uglier for coach Prosper Ogum who recorded his second consecutive defeat of the season with a 3:1 defeat to Legon Cities at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Sunday afternoon.

A brace from Hans Kwoffie and Micheal Otu's spotkick ensured Maxwell Konadu recorded an important victory over his former side.
Midfielder Mudasiru Salifu pulled one back for the Porcupine warriors.

Reigning champions Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a massive 3:0 victory over Accra Lions at the Accra sports stadium on Friday afternoon.  A brace from Daniel Afriyie Barnie and a solo from Agyenim Boateng was enough for Samuel Boadu's side to move up the table.

It was all fireworks at the golden city park as Berekum Chelsea defeated Aduana stars in the Bono derby on Sunday.

The Bibires miraculously took the lead in the 80th minute of the game as Kelvin Obeng rose high to finish with a brilliant header.

Accra Great Olympics lost by a lone goal to AshantiGold SC on Saturday courtesy Yaw Annor's brilliance.
The defeat means the dade boys have recorded their first home lost of the season.

The woes of West African Football Academy continued with a  1:0 defeat at the hands of Medeama SC in Tarkwa.
Vincent Atinga's fifth goal of the season was enough to win the maximum points for the yellow and mauve club.

Things are not looking good for the Academy boys this season, having lost 11 with 8draws and just 6 victories.

Comprehensive wrap-up of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League match day 25

Asante Kotoko after last week's victory over their archrivals Hearts Of Oak narrowed their chances of clinching the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League title were stunned at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale over the weekend.

Ronald Frimpong gave the home team the lead from a spot kick before Victor Aidoo adding the second for Real Tamale United. Frank Etuoga Mbella scored the consolation goal for the league leaders from the spot to make it 2:1.

Elsewhere at the Dun's Park, Bibiani Gold Stars defeated Great Olympics with a 2-1 scoreline with Prince Opoku Boateng scoring late in the encounter to give the home team a needed victory.

Ashanti Gold Stars held Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyeman Badu Park as they played out a 0-0 game while Legon Cities also beat Medeama at home.

Berekum Chelsea at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope lost to bottom-rocked WAFA. Karela United also beat Dreams FC with a 1-0 scoreline.

Hearts Of Oak at the Accra Sports Stadium drew with Elmina Sharks who are on the relegation Zone.

2022 GPL Match Day 24: Asante Kotoko gets the bragging right over Hearts

Ghana Premier league Week 24 got intense with a lot of teams dropping points when it matters the most and others grabbing all points at ease.

On Saturday, Accra lions  defeated Karela United 1-0 to grab all three points thanks to Frederick Asante's header while Ashanti Gold pipped struggling WAFA 6-0 at Obuasi.

Meanwhile, Accra Great Olympics returned to their winning ways as they ended Aduana's winning streak with a 2-1 scoreline thanks to a late strike from Arnold Abbey Mensah.

Elsewhere in Elmina, king Faisal had the shock of their lives as relegation-threatened Elmina Sharks hammered them 1-0 in front of their home fans.

Berekum Chelsea also pipped Legon Cities 1-0 at the Golden City Park in Berekum.

Asante Kotoko opened a eight point lead on the league table, after beating their rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak by a lone goal through their  Frank Etuoga Mbella from the spot at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday. The porcupine warriors have made their intentions clear to clinch the league trophy as they occupy the peak with 52points.

Asante Kotoko now leads Hearts Of Oak with 16 points with 12 games at hand to end the season.

2021/2022 GPL Match Day 23 Wrap: Asante Kotoko Wins Kumasi Derby, Hearts Of Oak Sees Medeama off. Real Tamale United back to Winning Ways

King Faisal stunned their city rivals Asante Kotoko in the first round and were poised for another feast at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium but couldn't stand the test of time this time around.

Imoro Ibrahim delightful free kick seals victory for the porcupines who are miles clear on top of the Ghana Premier League table.

Isaac Mensah scored the only goal at the Accra Sports Stadium to get all three points for Accra Hearts Of Oak against Medeama SC.

Ibrahim Laar brace was good enough to help Techiman Eleven Wonders to stun Accra Lions at home as they cruised to a 2:0 victory.

The dreams of Dreams FC got shuttered at the Duns Park as Farouk Adams 25th minutes struck for GoldStars in Bibiani eased them pass Dreams FC.

At the CAM park in Anyinase, Elmina Sharks the away team rushed to score first but later got slapped with 3 goals by the Home side Karela United to end the game 3:1 for the Pride and Passion guys.

Legon Cities welcomed Ashanti Gold at the El Wak Sports Stadium and smashed the visitors by a 2:0 to push them away from the relegation zone.

Augustine Okrah scored in the first half of the game between Bechem United and Accra Great Olympics at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park as they maintain they unbeaten run at home.

Real Tamale United played their first home game away from at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and walloped Berekum Chelsea 3:2.

Match day  20 of the 2021/2022 Ghana premier league has ended with Asante Kotoko recording the biggest victory of the week over newbies, Bibiani GoldStars at the Baba Yara Sports stadium whiles rivals Accra Hearts of Oak fell to a slim 1:0 defeat to Aduana Stars in Dormaa.

 

Accra Great Olympics continues to overshadow the Accra based clubs as they recorded a 1:0 victory over Legon cities.

 

ASHANTIGOLD 2-0 KING FAISAL (Kamaradini Mamudu & Isaac Opoku Agyemang)

 

AshantiGold continues their winning run with a 2:0 victory over Alhaji King Faisal at the Len Clay sports stadium on Friday. Goals from Kamaradini and Opoku Agyemang ensured that the Kumasi based club leaves Obuasi with another defeat.

King Faisal have registered only 6 points in their last 8 games in the league.

 

ACCRA LIONS FC 1-0 DREAMS FC (Fawzan Dandawa)

Newbies Accra Lions pulled a surprise at the Accra Sports stadium as they defeated Dreams FC by a lone goal courtesy Fawzan Dandawa.

Fawzan finished off a beautiful cross from Abass Samari in the 94th minute to hand the home side a very important victory.

Berekum Chelsea hands Karela United a painful 1:0 defeat at the Berekum Golden city park. Emmanuel Sarpong shot the Bibires ahead in the 50th minute of the game and the Berekum based club ensured that the maximum points stayed at home.

Accra Hearts of Oak of continues their poor run in the 2021/2022 Ghana premier league as they lost narrowly to Aduana Stars at the NAB park in Dormaa on Sunday Afternoon.

 

Sam Adams's strike was enough to sink the Phobians as their search for a victory in the past five (5) away league games continues.

Evergreen Ahmed 'Simba' Toure came to the party to hand Medeama SC an important victory in Tarkwa.

The Burkinabe broke the deadlock of the game in the 66th minute from a header to hand the yellow and mauve club all points at the Akoon community park in Tarkwa.

Bechem United saw off Elmina Sharks in a 5goal thriller at the Nduom sports complex on Sunday Afternoon.

Youngster Emmanuel Annor shot the visitors ahead in the 19th minute with Augustine Okrah doubling the lead in the 26th minute.

Tahir Mensah pulled one back for the Sharks in the 36th minute, reducing the deficit to one before the end of the first half.

Tahir Mensah restored parity in the 78th minute of the game but the home side couldn't hold it but to concede on the dying seconds of the game as Emmanuel Owusu rose to restore the lead for the hunters in the 94th minute.

The Porcupine warriors demolished Bibiani Goldstars on Sunday night in a 5:0 victory.
