The last four of the Champions League is now known. On Wednesday night, Bayern Munich secured their place in the semi-finals after a stunning 4-3, 6-4 match against Real Madrid in a fusion Allianz Arena. In the other poster, Arsenal delivered the essential by neutralizing Sporting CP (0-0) to also reach the semi-finals, without convincing in terms of content.

Bayern - Real Madrid: a European summit with a crazy scenario
Between two giants of continental football, the show has kept all its promises. Led from the first minute after an unusual error of Manuel Neuer exploited by Arda Güler, Bayern immediately reacted with Aleksandar Pavlovic, who scored the head five minutes later. Real Madrid, back to the wall after their 2-1 away defeat at the Santiago Bernabéu, thought they had regained control thanks to Güler’s double, sparkling in this match. The young Turk confirmed his immense talent with two achievements full of coolness, totally reviving the Merengues.

But Bayern never stopped responding. Harry Kane, still decisive, scored his 12th goal of the season in the Champions League, before Luis Diaz capsized Munich in the 88th minute of a crucial goal. In stoppage time, Michael Olise sealed the match with a sumptuous strike from the top of the box (90th+5).

Neuer, Kane and Olise, the key men of Munich
Despite his initial blunder, Manuel Neuer then recalled why he remains a world reference in his position. The German goalkeeper made many decisive saves, notably ahead of Kylian Mbappé and Federico Valverde in the second half. Against him, Mbappé scored his 15th goal in this European campaign, but Real paid a high price for his defensive weaknesses and the expulsion of Eduardo Camavinga at the end of the game, which precipitated his fall. Bayern will now meet Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, in a duel that promises to be explosive between two major contenders for the continental crown.

Arsenal advances, but without convincing
In London, Arsenal did not shine, but Arsenal will be at the rendezvous of the last four. Building on their success in the first leg in Portugal, the English club settled for a virgin draw against Sporting CP. Mikel Arteta’s men have again shown their offensive limits: sterile possession, lack of creativity and too slow pace.

Sporting, however, had several clear opportunities to make the Gunners doubt themselves, notably by Pedro Gonçalves and Catamo, whose attempt hit the post. In the second half, Arsenal raised their pitch slightly, without really being sharp. The best thrill came from Leandro Trossard, whose header found the post at the end of the match.

A final square with prestigious lineup
The semi-final table now promises very high-level matches: Bayern Munich – PSG on one side, Arsenal – Atlético de Madrid on the other. Four clubs, four ambitions, and a road to Wembley that promises to be ruthless.
