At 26, Achraf Hakimi is enjoying an extraordinary season, worthy of a true marathon man of the modern game. Since 24 July 2024, the right-back has already played 63 games in all competitions, for Paris Saint-Germain, the Morocco Olympic team and the Atlas Lions. It is a staggering statistic, and a measure of how vital he is at every level.
Second most-used player at PSG
With PSG, Hakimi has already featured in 49 games this season, a figure that could climb further if the club go deep at the Club World Cup in the United States. The Moroccan played in the opening game of the tournament against Atlético Madrid (a 4-0 win), and could play up to six more matches if Paris reach the final. In Ligue 1, the Champions League, the domestic cups or on the world stage, Hakimi remains an essential figure in Luis Enrique's system.
He has already racked up 4165 minutes, making him the club's second most-used player behind Ecuadorian defender Willian Pacho. It has been a trophy-laden season so far: PSG have already won the Champions League, Ligue 1, the Coupe de France and the Trophée des champions.
A leader for the Lions too
The Madrid-born player has not only shone at club level. He is also an undisputed leader on the international stage. As captain of Morocco's Olympic team at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, he played every minute of all 6 games (540 minutes) and made a major contribution to Morocco's bronze medal, a historic achievement for Moroccan football.
With the senior side, he has also played 8 games, totalling 638 minutes, across Africa Cup of Nations qualifying, 2026 World Cup qualifying and friendlies. Apart from a brief appearance against Benin (9 minutes), he has played the full game every time. Despite this relentless schedule, Achraf Hakimi has put up exceptional numbers for a full-back: 13 goals and 16 assists. His attacking output, combined with his work rate and ability to repeat high-intensity efforts, arguably makes him the best in the world in his position right now.

And it's not over yet…
The season is far from finished. If Paris go all the way at the Club World Cup, Hakimi will have only a month's rest before the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham on 13 August 2025. After that comes a new season with PSG, spanning Ligue 1, the Champions League and the aim of winning their titles back. Above all, Morocco will host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in December, hoping to win a title they have been waiting for since 1976. Hakimi is expected to be one of Walid Regragui's key men in that quest for continental glory.
And that's not all: Morocco are already well advanced in 2026 World Cup qualifying. With his current 63 games, Hakimi is on course to pass 100 appearances before the World Cup. It is an immense workload, but one befitting an exceptional player.
