It is already the start of the second matchday of the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2027. After being held to a draw (1-1) by Uganda in their first outing in these qualifiers, Tunisia must bounce back quickly to avoid already jeopardizing their future in this campaign.

Tunisia and Burkina Faso, time to bounce back

The Carthage Eagles were at home when they were frustrated by a brave Cranes side who managed to snatch a draw. But everything is still open in this Group E where all four teams have one point each.

Facing Botswana, who also held Aliou Cissé's Libya to a draw on the first matchday, Moïn Chaabani's men need to honor their flag and finally kick-start their qualification campaign. The same goes for Burkina Faso, who were held to a draw at home by Benin (1-1) in Ouagadougou. The Stallions face Central African Republic and also need to live up to their rank or else risk increasing the pressure surrounding Amir Abdou.

CAN 2027 (Q): mixed starts for the new coaches

6 out of 6 the target for DR Congo

Continuing on from their strong World Cup, DR Congo commanded respect in their first match of these CAN 2027 qualifiers by defeating Equatorial Guinea (2-0) with goals from Yoane Wissa and Chancel Mbemba.

Off to a great start, Sébastien Desabre's Leopards can take a big step towards qualification if they manage to win against Zimbabwe this Monday. That is far from guaranteed, given the Warriors were also impressive on the first matchday against Sierra Leone in a spectacular game (3-2) with a double from Parisian Marshal Munetsi.

Monday's schedule (Time in GMT)

16:00
