AfroBasket Women 2025: Mali land in the Group of Death, Ivory Coast drawn with Angola

From 26 July to 3 August 2025, Ivory Coast will host the Women's AfroBasket for the very first time in its history. Playing at home, the Elephantes will have to contend with some of the continent's heavyweights, such as Angola in Group A.

Ivory Coast and Angola set for a reunion

There will be a familiar feel to Group A. Ivory Coast and Angola, who were already in the same group in 2023 in Rwanda, have been drawn together again. The Elephantes won that meeting 72-69 against the Angolans, who will be looking for revenge.

Mali in the Group of Death

Bronze medallists at the last edition, Mali have landed in a very tough group with rising South Sudan and Cameroon, who need no introduction on the continent. Defending runners-up Senegal share Group C with Uganda and Guinea. Meanwhile, defending champions Nigeria will face Rwanda, who finished fourth at the last edition.
