Algeria are 73rd in the women's world rankings published on Tuesday 20 October, with 1 346.06 points. The team move up one place in the global standings, while keeping the same position in Africa.

Seven CAF teams are ahead of them: Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Morocco, Ghana, Zambia and Côte d'Ivoire. Morocco are 64th, with 1 384.71 points, while Côte d'Ivoire sit 72nd.

Algeria and Morocco are the two sides who played the most matches counted in this edition: ten each, out of a total of 183 matches included in the rankings.

The rise comes after a summer that ended on the continental podium. Algeria won the AFCON third-place match against Morocco on penalties after a 1-1 draw. In October, they then beat the Central African Republic 8-0 and 7-0 in Olympic qualifying.

The next FIFA women's rankings are due to be published on 7 December 2026.
