What an extraordinary battle for the lead between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga! The Ruhr club are the new leaders with one matchday left in the German season. A superb brace from Sébastien Haller (9 goals) set his side on course for victory on matchday 33, the penultimate round of league fixtures.
Having led the league throughout the season, the 'Marsupiaux' had been caught and overtaken by the Bavarians. But everything changed this weekend. That opened the door for Dortmund, who regained top spot at just the right moment with their win over Augsburg, featuring two goals from the Elephant (3-0) and a goal from Julian Brandt. With one matchday remaining and a 2-point lead, the Yellow and Blacks are well placed to become champions after 10 years of Bayern dominance.
