For matchday 6 in Ligue 2, Amiens travel to Paris FC this Saturday, 16 September. It is a chance for the Picards to keep their good form going. Amiens are on the back of a 4-1 win over Guingamp, just before the international break. They are second in Ligue 2, level on points with leaders Caen (12 pts). The coach Omar Daf hopes his players will keep up this fine run. His side have won 4 of their 5 matches so far. The Senegalese manager shared his thoughts with 11 amiénois.

"It's always better when you're on a run like ours. We used the break to bring some players up to speed and to work on aspects of our game. There are some very good things, but there are always things to improve too. We are demanding and we want to be even better in every area. Despite the absence of key players, we used this break to work and, above all, to keep up our standards, our discipline and our vigilance. There was no letting up", says Omar Daf. The former Senegal international also expects tough games. "Every game is difficult. When we coaches say that, it's not just empty talk. Paris FC are a club with big ambitions, who have recruited with that in mind. I have a lot of respect for this team and for our opponents in the games ahead. Ligue 2 demands that level of vigilance".

Opponents increasingly wary

In fine form, Amiens have impressed since the start of the season. Omar Daf's players are also being mentioned among the credible candidates for promotion to Ligue 1. The coach isn't overly bothered by the label of team to beat. He is focused on his own side's game and his players.

"Our opponents will raise their level in every game, and it's up to us to go one level higher. We are working on that and the players are aware of it. They are working to respond and to do even more in every game. Having stayed up on the penultimate matchday, we couldn't start the new season at full speed. We worked well during pre-season and we have reaped the rewards. Now, it's only the start, we have to maintain the tempo in every game. We have quality, we are going to face quality opponents and it's up to us to play our game", Omar Daf explains calmly.
