While the Saudi Pro League has managed to turn the heads of some big names in world football, that is not yet the case for Mohamed Salah. At 31, he could have told himself he had nothing left to prove in Europe. Now is the time to put on the "money hunter" hat. Some have made that financial choice, leaving the top 5 European leagues for the petrodollars of the Gulf. But Salah still has plenty left in the tank to set the prestigious Premier League alight.

Repeatedly linked with the Saudi Pro League and Ittihad Jeddah, his agent has been quick to shoot down all these transfer rumours."If we had considered leaving Liverpool FC this year, we would not have renewed the contract last summer. Mohamed remains attached to LFC," Ramy Abbas stated bluntly on his Twitter account.

Yet reports emerged in the early hours of Monday 7 August that Saudi giants Ittihad Jeddah were reportedly ready to make an offer for Liverpool star Mohamed Salah. The Tigers were even said to be prepared to table a bid of £60 million (€69 million). Salah was due to earn £180 million over two seasons, according to Arriyadiyah.

Despite the lucrative offer, Salah's agent, Ramy Abbas, reassured Liverpool fans. The Pharaoh is going nowhere. However, Anfield Edition revealed for its part, on Tuesday 8 August, that Salah, currently contracted to Liverpool, is ready to move to Saudi Arabia, but next year, depending on how the project at the Saudi club, Ittihad Jeddah, develops. Enough for Ramy Abbas to respond once more to the outlet close to the Reds. "Neither Mohamed (Salah) nor I have discussed it with anyone."

We'll wait and see. Sadio Mané's adviser had denied the approach from Al Nassr. We know what happened next. Will history repeat itself for Salah?
