In the dome of the Palais des Sports in Treichville, Abidjan, JCA edged out Azur 67 to 65 in a game that lived up to its billing. After finishing level in the 1st quarter (14-14), Azur won the 2nd quarter (20 -19) and went into the break with a one-point lead (34-33). JCA hit back to win the 3rd quarter (18-16), thanks to a double-double from Landry Ounsou (11 points, 14 rebounds) and a fine display from Dolo Bourahima (18 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists). In the end, JCA turned the game around to win by two points (67-65).
In the other men's semi-final, SOA beat ASA (59-57) in a lively contest between brothers in arms. SOA will face JCA in the final. In the women's competition, CSAT overcame SOA (75-61). Solange Bognini (27 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists) and Hanna Mabelle Amani (21 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists) won the battle against the Militaires. They finished the clash with a 14-point margin (75-61). In the other semi-final, FBA got the better of ABC (62-55). The winners will meet on Thursday 18 May 2023 for the dream final.
