The Ivorian Basketball Federation (FIBB) is holding a scouting tournament on Saturday 14 January 2023 to build its boys' U12 squad. Around 100 young basketball players, including 25 from the country's interior, will take part in the extensive trials at the Palais des Sports in Treichville. At the end of the process, 12 young talents will be selected for Ivory Coast's U12 national team, which will compete at the 2023 Henri-Seux international tournament in Ardres, France. Launched in 1983, the Henri-Seux international tournament has gained recognition among federations supported by FIBA. It began with 8 junior teams; today, between 20 and 24 teams meet in Ardres each year. Coaches invited by the FIBB's National Technical Directorate will also be assessed, with 2 selected for this international youth competition, which has helped introduce several basketball players. The event launches the youth competitions whose national finals will take place in Korhogo this year as part of the 2023 Interleague Finals.
