Basketball: N1 season tips off on 3 December 2022

After a fine 2021-2022 season, which saw ABC win both the men's and women's titles, the new Ivorian basketball league season gets under way this Saturday 3 December 2022 at the Palais des Sports de Treichville. Twelve (12) men's teams and eight (8) women's teams will chase the trophy in a 2022-2023 season that promises plenty of twists and turns. On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 December 2022, the Dôme du Palais des Sports will be dressed in the Ivorian Basketball Federation's finest colours for the season opener. Promoting basketball is everyone's business. With that in mind, fans plan to head to Treichville together this Saturday 3 December from 10:00 for a day of pure, home-grown basketball made in Côte d'Ivoire.

Liz Mills takes charge at ABC

Abidjan Basketball Club have changed coach. After sacking Franck Sylva a few weeks ago, the Ivorian basketball champions have recruited Liz Mills. She will be tasked with leading the Red-and-Whites in the final phase of the Basketball African League. According to the club's management, the Australian coach is a bold appointment that reflects high ambitions. Affi Anderson, the interim coach appointed after Sylva's dismissal, will therefore not be in charge for the start of the Ivorian basketball league, known as the N1, on Saturday 3 December 2022 at the Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan. Mills, well known and respected in the game for her professionalism, has previously coached the Kenyan men's national team as well as Moroccan club AS Salé.
