Phoenix beat Orlando 117-104 on Thursday 5 November 2026 at the Mortgage Matchup Center, in front of 17,071 spectators. Devin Booker led the win with 30 points, 8 assists and 3 steals in 34 minutes, for a plus-minus of +16. With 9:23 left, Phoenix led 105-75, a 30-point advantage. Orlando finished the game by winning the fourth quarter 31-21, too late to mount a comeback.

Phoenix were playing their second game in two nights and went into the contest without Mark Williams, who was ruled out. Orlando were without Paolo Banchero, Jalen Suggs, Noah Penda, Jonathan Isaac and Izaiyah Nelson. The victory ends a run of four straight defeats for Phoenix.

Orlando in front, then the collapse

The visitors made the better start. With 8:06 left in the first quarter, Orlando led 14-8, their biggest lead of the night at six points. At 6:15, it was still 16-15 to Orlando. Phoenix then took control and ended the quarter ahead, 33-26. The lead changed hands five times, all before Phoenix settled firmly in command.

The second quarter stretched the gap: 46-35 with 6:25 left, then 63-51 at the break. Phoenix closed the half with a 7-0 run, from 56-51 to 63-51 between 1:37 and 2.1 seconds before the buzzer. Twelve points clear, but nothing irreversible at that stage.

Three runs that turned the game

It was all decided after the break. Phoenix first produced a 7-0 run (from 65-57 to 72-57), then a 9-0 burst (from 78-62 to 87-62) in less than two and a half minutes of play, between 6:21 and 4:29 left in the third quarter. The third quarter ended 96-73, with Phoenix winning it 33-22. Another 9-0 run opened the final period, from 96-75 to 105-75, stretching the lead to 30 points. Orlando then won the last quarter 31-21 and cut the margin to 13 points.

Players of the match

For Phoenix, Devin Booker scored 30 points on 11 of 22 shooting, including 4 of 8 from three, and handed out 8 assists, with 3 turnovers. Dillon Brooks added 24 points, hitting 4 of 6 from three, and Miles Bridges had 18 points and 13 rebounds, along with 5 assists. Off the bench, Luke Kennard scored 12 points, including 3 three-pointers, in 21 minutes. Khaman Maluach scored only 8 points but grabbed 6 rebounds in 22 minutes, with a plus-minus of +13.

Orlando found their best player in the paint. Franz Wagner recorded 15 assists, 8 rebounds and 4 steals along with 15 points in 38 minutes, but he also lost 6 balls. Tristan da Silva scored 18 points, but on 4 of 12 from three, and his plus-minus of -15 was the worst on his team. Desmond Bane finished 3 of 9 from beyond the arc for 15 points.

Three takeaways

A 30-point lead. Phoenix led by 12 at half-time, by 23 after three quarters, then by 30 with 9:23 left. Orlando never led by more than six.

Phoenix won with their shooting and passing. The team finished 45 of 87 from the field, with 17 of 34 from three, 30 assists and only 15 turnovers. The contrast is stark : Orlando made just 13 of their 38 three-point attempts.

Orlando dominated the boards but gave away too many possessions. The team grabbed 48 rebounds to 33, but lost 25 balls, ten more than Phoenix. Wagner (6), Black (5) and da Silva (3) lost 14 between them. At 13 of 24 from the free-throw line, Orlando also left eleven points at the stripe.

The SNA view

Phoenix won this game through their three-point shooting, 51 points from 17 makes against 39 for Orlando from 13, and their ball security. That is no small feat for a team playing its second game in two nights, but the closing stretch also shows a weakness : just 21 points in the fourth quarter, while conceding 31. Despite their absentees, Orlando showed they can dominate the glass and generate offence around Carter Jr. and Wagner. The 25 turnovers ruled out any chance of staying in touch.

What next? Phoenix now have two wins and five defeats, and Orlando two wins and six defeats. The Suns host Houston and the Magic travel to Golden State on Saturday 7 November, local time.
