AS Douanes dominate the rankings

The Gabelous of AS Douanes are the dominant force in the Burkinabè Ligue 1. The club, promoted to the D1 5 years ago, has built up its profile in Burkinabè football. That commercial success, together with achievements on the pitch such as winning the Coupe du Faso and the league title in the 2022-2023 season, has allowed AS Douanes to put together a solid squad made up of the best players. To attract them, the customs officers' club did not hesitate to offer big salaries, as the eleven best-paid footballers are all on the AS Douanes payroll in this ranking of the best-paid players in the Burkina Ligue 1, for the 2022-2023 campaign.

Amadou Zon, the best-paid player

Amadou Zon, a defender at AS Douanes who is reportedly on 533.82 euros, is the best-paid player in the Burkinabè Ligue 1. Behind him come five players, namely Clavert Kiendrébeogo, Clément Pitroipa, Michel Batiébo, Hamed Hervé Diomandé and Mickael Ibeh, who are reportedly paid 457.56 euros each, in that order.

If AS Douanes are excluded from the ranking, Abdoulaye Zongo, known as Kouri, of Etoile Filante de Ouagadougou (EFO) and Rachid Sana of Asfa Yennega lead the way on 419.43 euros gross a month. On 381.30 euros, eight other players complete the ranking, five of them from AS Douanes, two from Salitas FC and one from Asfa Yennega. They include AS Douanes players Omar Kaboré, Hermann Nikièma, Issouf Soso, Yaya Sanou and Abdallah Sana, Souleymane Kouanda and Salif Bagaté of Salitas FC, and Cheick Ouédraogo of Asfa Yennega.
