Of the eight qualifying spots, only three are already allocated. The title holder Pyramids FC, the continental giant Al Ahly and the surprising Malian Stadium have secured their ticket. For others, every point will count.
Group A: long-distance duel for second place
Already qualified with 13 points, Pyramids FC will approach the last day without pressure against Power Dynamos. On the other hand, the fight is intense for second place. RS Berkane and Power Dynamos are tied (7 points). Berkane receives Rivers United, already eliminated, with the obligation to win. Power Dynamos, for its part, will have to do better than the Moroccan club, due to a particularly unfavorable ranking.
Group B: the AS FAR under pressure
Qualified with 9 points, Al Ahly has already secured the essential but could still aim for the first place in the group. Behind, the battle opposes AS FAR (8 points) and Young Africans (5 points). AS FAR is moving to Cairo to challenge Al Ahly, while Young Africans will have to win against JS Kabylie, already out of the running, and hope for a setback from the Moroccan club.
Group C: the group of all possibilities
This is undoubtedly the most undecided group. Al-Hilal Omdurman (8 points), MC Alger (7), Mamelodi Sundowns (6) and Saint Éloi Lupopo (5) can still all qualify. Al Hilal receives Lupopo, while Mamelodi Sundowns hosts MC Algiers for a decisive clash in South Africa. The slightest detail could make the difference.
Group D: a final in Tunis
Already assured of finishing in the lead with 11 points, the Malian Stadium will follow from a distance the duel for second place. Espérance de Tunis and Petro Atlético, both at six points, face each other in a cut-off match in Tunis. The winner will validate his ticket for the quarters. Already eliminated, Simba SC will complete its journey against the Malian Stadium.
As the final verdict approaches, the CAF Champions League group stage is delivering on all its promises. Between calculations, popular pressure and prestigious fixtures, this final day promises to be one of the highlights of the continental season.
