There is a fresh twist in the dispute between the Cameroonian Football Federation and the Ministry of Sports over the choice of coach Marc Brys's backroom staff. On 21 May, the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee delivered its ruling, having received the case on 14 May from FC 2000X Mimboman over the dispute concerning the technical staff.
The body, issuing interim measures, ordered the "immediate suspension of the effects of resolution N°1 of the session of the emergency committee of the Cameroonian Football Federation of 08 May 2024 relating to the appointment of the members of the support structure of the Cameroon men's A national team, the Indomitable Lions". In short, the staff named by the Fécafoot and its president, Samuel Eto'o, is not recognised and therefore cannot work.

Following on from that, the Conciliation and Arbitration Chamber also ruled to suspend the appointments of the members of the technical, medical and administrative staff of the Indomitable Lions. It is a second setback for the Fécafoot.
With the tug-of-war between the Cameroonian Football Federation and the Ministry of Sports likely to continue, this decision goes in favour of the government body. With the Indomitable Lions due to play in the 3rd and 4th rounds of 2026 World Cup qualifying in June, Marc Brys should therefore be supported by the staff he chose and who were appointed by the ministry.
