Things move fast in sport. After his controversial defeat against Tyson Fury, many observers saw Ngannou thriving in boxing. But the Cameroonian was quickly halted by Anthony Joshua a few days ago. He never got going against the Briton. So much so that some observers are urging him to go back to MMA. Carl Frampton, the former featherweight world champion, does not share that view.

"The money he makes in boxing is incredible, it's better than anything he has done in the UFC so far. There are still fights out there for him and he put in a very, very credible performance against Fury, let's not forget that. He has had two boxing fights, one very close against the man most boxing fans consider the best heavyweight, then a failure against AJ [Joshua], and that's what happens in heavyweight boxing. If he wants it, I think there is still a place for him at the boxing table," says Frampton. Ngannou will appreciate that. For now, his name is in any case linked with an MMA fight against Brazilian Renan Ferreira.
