Chad U20 are back in action three days after a 3-0 defeat by Cameroon U20

Chad U20 do not have long to respond. Beaten 3-0 by Cameroon U20 on 12 October at 12:00 GMT, they travel to face Central African Rep. U20 on 15 October, again at 12:00 GMT, in the opening match of qualifying round 2 of the 2026 U-20 AFCON.

Chad U20 have three days to react

Only three days separate the two games. The match against Central African Rep. U20 starts a programme of six fixtures spread across three dates: 15, 18 and 19 October. For Chad U20, it is a chance to restart their campaign after a heavy defeat. Central African Rep. U20 were not among the round 1 results, so they meet Chad U20 with that scoreline as the only recent reference point.

Gabon U20 meet Congo U20 after a goalless draw

At 15:00 GMT the same day, Congo U20 host Gabon U20. Gabon U20 come off a 0-0 draw with Congo DR U20, played on 12 October at 15:00 GMT. One point, no goal scored and none conceded: Gabon U20 will look to move their record on. Their opponent this time, Congo U20, is a different side from the Congo DR U20 they faced in round 1.

Earlier in qualifying, on 24 September, Egypt U20 won 2-0 against Libya U20 and Algeria U20 drew 1-1 with Tunisia U20. The competition is already well under way, with 16 of 32 matches played and 40 goals scored, an average of 2.5 per match.

Four more fixtures on 18 and 19 October

The programme continues on 18 October with two matches. Guinea U20 host Liberia U20 at 16:00 GMT, then Mali U20 welcome Gambia U20 at 19:00 GMT.

On 19 October, Mauritania U20 play Sierra Leone U20 at 16:00 GMT. The round closes with Guinea-Bissau U20 v Senegal U20, scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
