At the extraordinary general assembly on 26 December, the 2025 budget of the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) was approved at a record figure: 24,688,263,526 CFA francs (more than 24 billion, or roughly 37.8 million euros), an increase of nearly 75%.
Reform of the statutes, the creation of a tribunal with a national dispute resolution chamber and a players' status chamber, and the presentation of structural projects (construction of a centre in Bingerville, work starting on the federation's new headquarters): the FIF general assembly had a packed agenda.
Beyond these various developments, the presentation of the 2025 budget prompted plenty of reaction given the substantial increase. The record figure is explained by higher revenues and the various projects to be funded this year.
Fresh from winning the Africa Cup of Nations title, Ivory Coast are highly ambitious and continue their policy of making the country a football "hub" in West Africa, for example by hosting the relocated home matches of several African national teams, who stay in Abidjan and rent one of the stadiums renovated for the last AFCON.
