The DR Congo clubs in action on matchday 3 of the CAF Confederation Cup had mixed results. FC Lupopo won their first match in Group A after two defeats in a row. The Congolese side beat Libyan club Al Akhdar 1-0 thanks to a goal from Lobota (45th). On three points, though, they remain third behind USM Alger (7 pts), who beat Marumo Gallants (6 pts) 2-0 with goals from Meziane (39th) and Belaid (89th).

FC Lupopo were the only bright spot in a gloomy day for Congolese sides. In Group B, Motema Pembe lost at home. After two draws, the Congolese club went down to the Nigerians of Rivers United, who played with ten men from the 41st minute. The Nigerians won the game through Ghanaian Paul Acquah, who scored in the 53rd minute. DCMP are bottom with just two points. ASEC Mimosas, who beat Diables Noirs of Brazzaville (2-0), move into second place in Group B with 4 points, behind Rivers United (6 pts).

TP Mazembe can no longer find a way through

TP Mazembe, for their part, suffered a second defeat in a row. The Ravens were beaten at home by US Monastir (0-2) on Sunday. The Congolese are third in Group D, behind US Monastir (7 pts) and Young Africans (4 pts). The Scorpions of Mali are bottom of the table with just two points.

In Group C, Pyramids FC took all three points at home by beating Asko de Kara, after two consecutive draws. Tunisian Fakhreddine Ben Youssef scored the only goal of the game in the 28th minute. The Egyptians top Group C with 5 points after three matches.
