A poor start to a competition does not have to spell disaster, as Asec Mimosas can attest. After an uneven opening to their Confederation Cup campaign, the Yellow and Blacks bounced back impressively in their 3rd group match against Congo's Diables Noirs. On Sunday, they also beat Motema Pembe by 2 goals to 1 in Luanda, thanks to a brace from Kramo Aubin. That win takes them to 10 points, level with Nigeria's Rivers United. After the FIFA international break, the Ivory Coast champions will face former Mimosas player N'Gouan Ruffin's old team-mates for top spot in their group. It is the first time an Ivorian side has reached the quarter-finals of an African club competition since Séwé in 2014.
