CS Constantine have changed coach after six league matches. The Algerian club's board announced on Sunday 18 October that Mondher Kebaier's tenure in charge of the team had ended. The decision came the day after a home defeat to JS El Biar, 2–4.
The Tunisian coach leaves a side with two wins, one draw and three defeats since the start of the season. CSC have taken seven points out of a possible eighteen in their six matches.
A home defeat, then a change on the bench
Against El Biar, newcomers to the Algerian top flight, Constantine scored twice but conceded four goals. The result added a third defeat to their record. Above all, it was followed the very next day by the decision to end the coach's spell in charge.
After the match, Kebaier had lamented a lack of concentration and the right mindset in his team's last two outings, in remarks reported by Winwin on 18 October. That was the coach's own assessment of the performance after the game; it is not the reason officially given by the board for his departure.
What CSC announced
The club's statement confirms the end of Kebaier's tenure as head of the technical staff. It gives no details of the reasons for the decision, nor of the contractual terms of the separation. No successor is named in the statement.
