Kenya have a medal to play for in baseball5. Beaten 2-0 by Cuba in Monday's semi-final, they meet Mexico at 15:00 GMT on Tuesday, a side they already beat 2-0 in the preliminary round. Cuba play Chinese Taipei for gold at 16:30.
Baseball5 is a five-a-side game from Cuba, played with the hand and no bat or glove. Kenya's preliminary wins included Mexico and Syria.
Joy and Pamela alone on the sand
Six African pairs lost in the beach volleyball last 16 on Monday: Sierra Leone to Brazil, Senegal twice, Egypt to the Netherlands after winning a lucky-loser round against Mozambique, and DR Congo and Ghana in three sets against Australia and Germany. Ghana had beaten Morocco 2-0 that morning in the same lucky-loser round.
Nigeria remain. Joy and Pamela beat Thailand 2-0 and face the Dutch pair Both and de Groot, Egypt's conquerors, at 09:00 GMT on Tuesday.
Morice and Elsayed in the draw
Algeria's Tania Morice, a 3-2 winner against a Venezuelan opponent, plays her last-16 tie against Hong Kong's Su at 11:25 GMT on Tuesday. Egypt's Elsayed, who won 3-1 against a Thai player, meets Japan's Kawakami at 10:45.
With women's rugby also on the card, the continent has several chances to add to its seven medals from the first two nights of finals. Fixtures are on our Dakar 2026 page.
