Egypt, Kenya and Cameroon await 2027 Women's Volleyball World Cup draw

Egypt, Kenya and Cameroon will find out their group opponents on Monday 26 October 2026. The draw for the 2027 Women's World Cup will give the three African sides a first reference point as they prepare for the tournament, hosted by the United States and Canada.

Finishing in the top two will be essential to stay in the tournament. The make-up of the groups will show how big that challenge is, without predicting results.
Three African paths to follow
The three teams earned their places on the podium at the African championship played in Nairobi in September. Egypt won their fourth continental title there, beating Kenya three sets to zero in the final. The Kenyans finished second, ahead of Cameroon.
The Egyptians went through that championship without dropping a set. They will therefore begin their World Cup preparations as African champions, having won the title against a Kenyan side that has been continental champion ten times. Cameroon also have experience of major African occasions, with three consecutive titles in 2017, 2019 and 2021.
This podium sets the context for the next milestone, without guaranteeing results against teams from other continents. The draw will help gauge the step up each of the three teams faces.
A date in October, the tournament in 2027
The competition will take place from 20 August to 5 September 2027. The group matches will be played in four North American cities, with the final scheduled for Anaheim. The 26 October event concerns only the make-up of the groups, not the start of the matches.
Preparation goals can then be sharpened around the fixtures announced on Monday.
