Egypt finished top of the medal table at the World University Finswimming Championships, held on 28 and 29 October 2026 in Sharm el-Sheikh. The host nation's swimmers won seven titles, nine silver medals and three bronzes, making nineteen podium finishes.

Tarek Hassan Elsayed set the tone on the first day by winning the 100m surface in 34.50 seconds, a competition record. He beat China's Guan Hanzhi (36.31 seconds) and fellow Egyptian Ammar Ahmed Waseef (36.51 seconds). Having already set a competition record in the heats with 35.59 seconds, he lowered that mark by 1.09 seconds in the final.
