The Palais des Sports de Treichville in Abidjan hosts the FIBA Africa regional youth camp in October. The camp will bring together players under 16, with a session for girls from 15 to 18 October and another for boys from 21 to 24 October.

For the second time, after 2024, the Ivorian capital is staging the annual event, which is dedicated to developing young African talent. The camp will bring together forty girls and boys from twenty African countries, joined by fifteen Ivorian players. Coaches from across the continent will also take part in the training, overseen by experts from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and the NBA.

The programme includes classroom and on-court sessions, with the aim of strengthening the individual and collective skills of the young players. Teamwork, effort and dedication are also among the values highlighted during the camp.

Learning beyond the court

Beyond technical and physical preparation, this FIBA-NBA camp also aims to contribute to the personal development of the young participants. Some may get the chance to take part in a future edition of Basketball Without Borders, an international basketball development programme.

Through this initiative, FIBA Africa aims to promote solidarity and community spirit, seen as important elements in young people's sporting and personal progress.
