Egypt will take to the Red Sea on Sunday 1 November in Sharm el-Sheikh for the first races of the Fin Swimming World Championships in open water. The event brings together senior and junior categories, with three days of competition scheduled until Tuesday 3 November.
The start list for the senior women's 1,000 m surface includes Nada Magdy Hagrass, Malak Sherif, Ghada Mohamed Khalil and Farah Wael Elsayed. In the men's event, Mohab Ehab Helmy and Mahmoud Waleed Ali are also among the entries for the 1,000 m surface. Their participation remains to be confirmed on race day.
From the kilometre to the mixed relays
Sunday's programme combines the 1 km surface and bi-fins races with the heats of the 150 m elimination events. Monday 2 November will be devoted to the longer distances: 5 km surface and 3 km bi-fins, as well as the heats and finals of the 4 × 150 m mixed elimination relays.
The individual elimination finals and the 4 × 1 km mixed relays are scheduled for Tuesday 3 November. This senior and junior World Championships is separate from the university event held earlier in the same city.
