Libreville will host the first edition of the Central Africa International Women's Football Friendly Tournament from 4 to 10 November 2026. Central African women's football will have a new stage from 4 November. For a week, the Nzeng-Ayong stadium in Libreville will stage the first edition of the tournament, featuring hosts Gabon, Congo, Chad, the Central African Republic and Sao Tome and Principe. Sporting Club Nyanga will also take part.

Beyond the action on the pitch, the initiative aims to encourage exchanges between the teams and give players an environment in which to show their potential.

A platform for preparation and progress

The regional competition is above all intended as a preparation ground for the participating sides. By testing themselves against opponents from different backgrounds, the national teams will be able to gauge their level, sharpen their understanding on the pitch and improve their team cohesion.

The matches will also give players further experience of top-level international football. For coaching staff, the tournament will be a chance to assess their squads, try out tactical systems and identify areas for improvement.

An initiative to give women's football fresh momentum

Led by COFFAC with the support of FIFA, this first edition is part of a drive to promote women's football in Central Africa. Bringing several nations and a club together in one competition should create more opportunities to play each other, encourage the sharing of experience and strengthen ties between those involved in the sport across the sub-region.

The tournament will run from 4 to 10 November in Libreville. It is a first step towards establishing a regional fixture that could support the growth of women's football and offer more opportunities to players in Central Africa.
