The Union of Professional Footballers of Côte d'Ivoire (Ufpci), led by former international Zoro Marc, has taken a hard line. It has summoned Bouaké FC, ASI Abengourou and AS Tanda before the labour inspectorate over the mistreatment of players. While AS Tanda has agreed to cooperate, Bouaké FC and ASI have chosen to turn a deaf ear. Neither president has responded or sent a representative to address the players' grievances, with eight players let go at Bouaké and one dismissed at Abengourou. Fresh letters will be sent to them in the coming days, we have learned from sources close to the case. The Ufpci is the Ivorian players' body recognised internationally by FIFpro, the global players' union.
