SNA: François Kamano, how did you cope with being left out of the squad for the last AFCON?
François Kamano: It's true I wasn't picked for the last Africa Cup of Nations (in Cameroon), but I stayed really focused on what I know how to do. It's another source of motivation for me to come back stronger. I'm a professional footballer and I give 100% every day. It's my job, and I try to give the best of myself every time..
SNA: You haven't been recalled to the national team for more than a year, since the arrival of Kaba Diawara on the bench. What is your relationship like with the national team coach?
François Kamano: I get on very well with him. Even now, if I feel like talking to him, I do. Everything's fine, I think his choice is based on football reasons. So if he thinks I'm important, he'll pick me. Otherwise, he'll go with the players he considers better than me.
SNA: There is a FIFA window next March. Are you ready to return to the national team?
François Kamano: I'm Guinean. I grew up in Guinea and all my family is there. The national team comes before everything. It's the coach's decision. I have no reason not to come if I'm called up. I follow Guinea's performances even when I'm not selected. I try to do everything I can to perform well and get back in.
