Revealed by investigative journalist Abdout Latif Diallo, the affair follows a complaint from a man named Tahirou Barry, who sold a car for around 90,000 euros to Guinean Football Federation president Bouba Sampil.

However, the sale, made "on credit", has still not been repaid by the man in question. Having failed to respond to several summonses, Bouba Sampil was therefore detained by gendarmes as he was at the gates of the Mohammed V Palace, the seat of power in Conakry.

Taken to the police station, he was eventually released after agreeing to repay the full amount.

That commitment was necessary while awaiting the verdict of the Feguifoot Ethics Committee on the multiple allegations Sampil has faced for several months (abuse of power, match-fixing, influence peddling…).
